Accommodation and Travel

Due to the limited availability of hotel rooms in Aachen, we have reserved rooms at the “Motel One” for workshop participants. If you are interested in reserving a room, please contact the hotel directly at aachen@motel-one.com, mentioning the names Michael Herty and Nicole Marinic. Each attendee will be responsible for paying for the room at the hotel.
We advise you to make your reservation by February 24, 2025, as we will no longer be able to guarantee availability after this date.

Datahyking Network-wide research and training event
September 9 – 11 2024 @ Batiment Fizeaux – Parc Valrose, Nice, France

The DATAHYKING Network-wide research and training event will take place in Nice, on the Campus Valrose of Université Côte d’Azur from September 9th, 2024 until September 11th, 2024. It will feature scientific lectures from international researchers, some training sessions and a meeting with the European Union Project Officer.

The event will take place at the 5th floor of the Building Fizeaux, on the beautiful Parc Valrose of the Université Côte d’Azur.

The social dinner will take place Tuesday, September 10 at 7:00 PM at the restaurant Le Galet, located 3 Promenade des Anglais, 06000 Nice, France (directly on the seafront).

Location

The training workshop will take place at the Department of Computer Science, Celestijnenlaan 200A, 3001 Heverlee, in auditorium Erik Duval (room 00.225). This is located on the ground floor, at the end of the foyer (see black cross on the floor map below).

On entering the building, you can also go to the front office (00.02), where the secretariat will be happy to help you.

SAVE THE DATE : Technical skills training course: high-performance computing
March 11 & 12 2024 — Sophia Antipolis, Nice, France

The course will start on Monday March 11, morning (~9am) and will finish on Tuesday March 12, afternoon (~5pm).

It will be held at Polytech Nice Sophia (https://polytech.univ-cotedazur.fr/) in Sophia Antipolis (Nice, France) located here:

From abroad, we recommend to arrive on Sunday and leave on Wednesday.

To reach Polytech Nice Sophia:

Kick-off and recruitment meeting — May 25 & 26 2023– Leuven, Belgium

On May 25-26, we will hold the formal kick-off meeting for the MSCA Doctoral Network DATAHYKING.  As foreseen in the proposal, we will combine the recruitment meeting with some interactive training sessions for both the academic and industrial supervisors, on recruitment bias, open feedback culture in intercultural environments, open science and IP in public/private collaborations.
